7 year old Chirag Mishra of Odisha wins Gold in 18th National BUDO cup championship in Kerala

 

Bhubaneswar is becoming the preferred Sports capital of India, with continuous efforts of our Chief Minister Naveen Pattanaik and Sports enthusiasts across the state. All kinds of Sports are gaining popularity. Here is a differential story of Odisha’s success in a form of martial art called Okinawan Karate championship.  18th National BUDO cup championship was held on 26-January-2018, Kochi which has participants across countries with majority participants from India (Karala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka), Japan and Srikanka. 400+ participants showcasing their martial art Katta and Kumitha.

Odisha’s Chirag Mishra (7 Years Old) studying in Class 1 – ODM Public School won Gold for Odisha under 10 years category. It’s the first time Odisha has won Gold in Kudokan Karate. Chirag had strong opponents from Kerala who competed with more than 100 participants under 10 years age category to make it a success. Similarly Odisha’s Dutam Kumar Nayak also won Silver medal in above 15 Years category making coach Sumant kumar Mallick proud.
