Explore the Rich heritage of Jajpur Odisha in a new way with Kalinga Diaries

After the successful maiden trip of Prachi River Valley in December, Kalinga Diaries are now having their second trip to Jajpur on 21st January 2018. Founded by a dedicated team determined to make more people aware of the unexplored side of Odisha, this is the startup’s second trip. This time the tour is focused on rich heritage as well as the hills of Jajpur.

As we all know, Jajpur one of the first capitals of Kalinga, is now an area of archeological wealth, including the famous Saktipitha of the Goddess Biraja, as well as the shrines of the Yajnya Varaha, SaptaMatruka, and other religious figures, all located along the bank of the Baitarani.

The tour will first touch the shrine of Barahanath Temple complex, where you can see the temples of Baraha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Bimala Temple & Rama Temple. Then, will move to Dasaswamedha ghat where you can see the lesser known temples of Budha Ganesha and Jama Maa Sata Bhauni, which is predominantly a tantric shrine.

From there, to the lesser known Jagannath temple. Then to the Maa Biraja Shakti pitha and NabhiGaya and the tour will finally finish at the Langudi Hills, situated near Jaraka, which was earlier known as Pushpagiri Mahavihara, in many Buddhist chronicles.

The tour will also have a special attractive location which the organizers don’t want to disclose now as a surprise factor. The project and its unique approach have been well-received on social media and elsewhere.
