Odisha’s Amrutjay Mohanty bags a triple crown at the Beldih Club AITA Championship Series 2017 which concluded on Saturday. The matches were played at the tennis courts of both Beldih Club and United Club in Jamshedpur.
Top seed in Boys Singles Under 14, Amrutjay took an hour and 15 minutes to dismiss Deep Munim of Madhya Pradesh by a straight 7-5, 6-0. Later in the day, Mohanty, seeded 3 in the Boys Singles Under 16 category recovered from 1-4 down in the opening set against 4th seeded Amit Routh to win the title by a close 7-6(2),7-5. Yesterday, late in the evening, Mohanty paired up with Asish Sinha to also win the Boys Doubles Under 16 trophy.
