Chief minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed the architectural design of the civic body proposed new headquarters that will come up at Satya Nagar on the Janpath stretch in the state capital.
Municipal commissioner Krishan Kumar briefed the chief minister on the design for the new office. According to the plan, the new headquarters will be a 12-storey structure and will have state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate the new smart city’s administrative departments for smooth functioning.
The administration also plans to house the proposed intelligent city operation and management centre in the new headquarters. The centre, a part of the smart city mission, which will look after and handle services such as traffic, parking, bus operations, common payment card, emergency response and city incidence management. This centre would have operators to look after different services of the city.
Construction will start in January and the office will be commissioned in two and half years.
