They spoke about the importance of menstrual hygiene, the taboo that still exists regarding menstruation and the deadly consequences due to the lack of awareness on the same.  Keeping in mind the theme of this year- Its Time for Action, a demonstration on the various methods of menstrual hygiene was also given by the speakers.

Expressing her views on the objective of this day, Shilpa Parida, Director, Public Relations said, “Menstrual Hygiene as a concept is still unknown to a big part of the female population in our country. This awareness programme is a small effort by NMIET to help the women fight the problems that they face every month, which in turn poses a great risk to their lives.”
