Fabulous day two at India Surf Festival

It couldn’t have been better than this, this ISF. It was an explosive day here which kicked off with the Asian Surf Championship. All the surfers enthusiastically took part in the competition. The battle of waves early morning made a more competitive atmosphere. It was for the first time in India’s history that Asian Surfing Championship was conducted here. The championship got an overwhelming response.

“This time the championship was of an International level where the rules and regulations were followed using the same tools that are used in international competitions. It was a new learning where judges had many suggestions” says Andy, who is an enthusiastic surfer and also director of Sports at ISF. “I started off in a bit of a rhythm, I was lucky to get a nice scoring wave early and back it up” adds Manimaram, the best performing surfer of the day.

Stand Up Paddling workshop by Active 360 and Surfing workshop by MYDestiny were the next on the list. It was followed by longboarding workshop, with almost 20 people, including 6 women was lined up to ride a longboard and also gain some longboarding tricks. The workshop was conducted by a bunch of youngsters, the Longboard Crew India, all the way from Mumbai. The workshop was the big hit of the day.

The other side of Ramchandi saw Kite Surfing demonstration by Kitesurfing Lanka. Sports DJs kept the vibe going on the beach. Sebastian a.k.a 120Dub, and Mista Hagen from Goa were on the console playing music that complemented the energy of the sports.

The festival witnessed people enjoying yoga on water, SUP workshop, slack lining. Live painting sessions and painting exhibitions of artist Lizzy from My Destiny, Nikkie Gargi from Bhubaneswar and many other artists are in progress. The day ends with an awesome performance by Alchimix, band from Goa. Also, Sitarsonic gave another hit performance after getting an amazing response last year as well.
