On a pilot project, the state government is all set to run Odisha’s BJB (junior) college on an online track. A software application—Student Lifecycle Management Module (SLMM)—has been developed to enable students, faculty members and other staffers to perform different tasks daily.
SLMM entails computerisation of admission processes, including short-listing of students by colleges for entrance examination, issuance of admit cards, generation of merit lists and payment of fees. Faculty members can also use the online application to apply for leave, carry out routine works and make official correspondence. Each student and faculty member will be given individual user ID to access SLMM.
