Odisha Craft Mela begins at Dilli Haat

A 15-day Odisha Craft Mela was inaugurated on 16th September, 2014 at Dilli Haat by Shri Sanjay Kumar Panda, IAS, Secretary, Textiles, Government of India. Dr. Sunil Kumar Bhargava, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner, Dr. Tribikram Pradhan, Additional Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha, New Delhi, were present on the occasion.

Nearly 50 Craftsmen from districts like Cuttack, Puri, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda are participating in the Craft Mela.  Artisans will showcase the rich traditional handicraft products and art textiles developed in Handicraft Clusters in 27 stalls put up by Odisha State Cooperative HandicraftsCorporation Ltd.

The main attraction of this fortnight long (16th-30th Sept’2014) Crafts Mela are Tribal Jewellery, silver filigree, appliqué and patch work, stone craft, wood carving, pattachitra, palm leaf etching, dhokra casting, golden grass craft and painted wooden items etc.
