BookCourierNow is an online portal which allows people of Bhubaneswar to book their courier consignments on-line by just entering basic details like name, pickup address, destination address etc. When they submit their details, our representative calls them up to confirm their orders. Once an order is confirmed, we send our pick-up boy to collect the consignment from the customer’s mentioned address and the customer needs to pay at the time of pickup. Then the consignment is sent via air or land route and when it is delivered, the customer gets a confirmation call from our side.
I thought of an idea ‘What if I offer my services online? Being online is the trend of today. If you want to be successful, then be On-line. I researched on e-commerce websites and also made a business plan however it required a good amount of start-up fund. I decided to learn web designing and thus joined Arena Animation Bapuji Nagar for a 6 months course in Web Development. After that I designed the site www.bookcouriernow.com and hosted it on August 2014 Says Karan Samal.
I had met some angel investors during ‘Economic Times – The Power of Ideas’ event in Pune back in 2010 and thus got in touch with them. They liked this unique concept and provided us a seed capital of Rs 1.2 lakh to start with. With this money we advertised our Brand & Services through Google AdWords and other medium. Soon we started getting more then 40 orders per day, which means a sale of over Rs 5000 per day.The best thing is that we haven’t yet received a single complaint from any of our customers. Most of the money earned goes back into Business for designing new SEO campaigns to penetrate deeper into our target market. By the end of 2014, we aim to handle more than 250 orders a day and expand our horizon to other cities as well.
Currently we are a team of 5 people and we plan to recruit a few pick up boys as the orders increase..
