Odisha Tourism opens solo stall for first time in London for World Travel Market

Odisha’s ‘365-day’ tourism destination is the State’s highlight at the three-day World Travel Market (WTM) 2014 in London that was inaugurated on Monday.

With eco-tourism being the current leading tourism product world over, Odisha Tourism is laying special emphasis on it.

A delegation, led by Tourism Minister Ashok Panda, Secretary Arvind Padhee and other stakeholders from the tourism industry, are showcasing State’s tourism products and festivals to attract travellers, particularly from the USA and Europe.

Some of the highlights at the Odisha Tourism pavilion are exhibits on cultural heritage and sand art animations depicting State’s landmarks. Odisha Tourism ambassador for the event, Sudarshan Patnaik, will make sand art on cultural and monumental heritage of the State at the pavilion.

Informing about Odisha’s participation in WTM London, Arvind Padhee, Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department, said unlike  previous years, Odisha Tourism is participating as a stand-alone destination along with industry stakeholders from the State. More than a dozen travel operators and hotels from Odisha are participating in the leading global event in travel industry.
