Under the aegis of the 22 bikes & BCAC, a voluntary blood donation camp was organised at 22 bikes campus here today. A total of 74 units of blood were collected at the voluntary camp, with donors comprising cyclists, employees of Reliance Trends & Brand Factory, BCAC members, and nearby residents from Sahid Nagar.
The camp started at 8:00 AM and extended till 1.00 PM. Mr Lalit Das (IPS) and Mr. Sanjeeb Panda (IPS), was the first two to arrive at the camp. This was followed by a stream of cyclists, nearby residents. The camp also witnessed active participation from the employees of Reliance Trends and Brand Factory. After a basic check up the donors were taken to the mobile van where they each donated 350 ml of blood to save someone’s life. Refreshments consisting of juice, fruits and biscuits were provided to the donors. Huge diversity was noticed among the donors. Some, who had been donating on a regular basis; while others who were first timers, got rid of their apprehensions. One commonality was the smile on everyone’s face after giving blood.
President of Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) Sanjeeb Panda inaugurating the blood donation camp emphasised on the need of donating blood at regular intervals as each unit of blood gives a new lease of life to the needy.
Lady power, steal the charm of the Blood Donation camp with 10 lady donors. Lady cyclists Mrs Aarati and Mrs Suni urged people to generate awareness about positives of blood donation and remove the misconceptions prevalent in some sections of the society related with donating of blood by ladies.
Blood Bank Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar Branch medical staff comprised Dr Debashis Mishra, Ranjan Kumar Baral, Saradakanta Chodhury, Pravat Kumar Barik. Volunteer Nihar Giri, Ajay Pradhan and Biswasima Mohanty join hands for sharing detailed information about Blood Donation to each Donor.
22 bikes, has the privilege of announcing its 1st Anniversary celebration on May 10th 2016. It is a whole day celebration with cycling fraternity consisting different programmes like Blood Donation, 3D Art, Bicycle Donation, Rewarding Bike Police, Book Donation etc.
