Professor Aditya Prasad Dash of Odisha has been appointed by Honourable President as the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Tamil Nadu.
After retirement from the World Health Organisation from a prestigious position of Adviser in last September, Prof Dash was occupying the “Distinguished Scientist Chair” at the institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar; where he was also the Director till August 2003. Before joining the World Health Organisation, he was also working as the Director in various national research institutes including the director of the National Institute of Malaria Research, New Delhi. Credited with Ph. D. and D. Sc. Degrees; honoured with Dr T.R. Rao award of ICMR; Rajib Gandhi Foundation award and many Scientific Society awards; Professor Dash is a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, Academy of Medical Sciences and many other scientific societies in India. He has significantly contributed in the field of neglected tropical diseases affecting poorest of the poor; in developing various tools, technologies and strategies.
