A little less than a year since she was first disqualified from the Indian athletics team for the Commonwealth Games, Dutee Chand will finally participate in an international tournament — the Asian Championships. Also from Odisha Srabani Nanda is already part of the squad.

In 100m Federation championship, Shibani Nanda bagged gold and Dutee Chand bagged the silver in 24.52s. Dutee is the reigning Asian junior champion in this event with a personal best of 23.57 secs to her credit.

23-year-old Shibani finally lived up to her billing in the Fed Cup, as she completed the sprint double (100 and 200m). Having already claimed the 100m gold, the Odisha athlete left no stone unturned to ensure her second gold. As in the 100m, she relied on a powerful start that gave her an early leeway and built on it to finish ahead of Dutee Chand in 23.67s.
