Chief minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a multipurpose recreational jetty at Satpada in Puri on Friday. A total of 200 boats can anchor at the jetty at a time and Rs 19 crore was spent in completion of the project.
The state government would soon come up with a new scheme namely Sahid Baji Rout Naujatra Surakshya Yojana for safety of boat passengers. Under the scheme, the state government would supply life jackets and other safety equipment to boat passengers.
