Students of National Institute of Technology NIT Rourkela named Black Mamba team have brought laurels to the state by securing fourth position in the national selection for the 10th edition of BAJA SAE India, an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers.
The team, Black Mamba Racing, is going to upgrade its last year’s all-terrain vehicle and showcase in the finals scheduled for February next year. Around 415 institutions took part in the selection contest and the team from NIT Rourkela bagged the fourth position. “It is a proud moment for us as we are ahead of other NITs and IITs in the country,” said Saswat Mishra, media head of Black Mamba Racing.
The contest was held on June 24 and 25, and the result was declared a few days back.
It is touted as one of the most competitive events in the country. The finals will be held in Indore.
