ITC

ITC to invest Rs 800 cr on food processing, hotel in Odisha.  The integrated consumer goods manufacturing facility is being built on an area of 700,000 sq ft at Khordha district in Odisha. The firm will roll out ITC’s food brands like Aashirvaad, Bingo, Sunfeast, YiPPee! from the unit, a company statement said.

Besides, the group is also setting up a 110 room five star hotel in Bhubaneswar under its WelcomHotel brand, it said. “These investments including a state of the art integrated consumer goods facility and a five star hotel property entail an investment of nearly Rs 800 crore,” ITC said, adding that the facility would be completed in 30 months.

Adani Group

Adani Group will increase its investments in Odisha by about Rs 3,000 crore ($438.87 million) for a total of Rs 15,000 crore, Chairman Gautam Adani said on Thursday, without providing a specific timeline.  The increased investment will create 10,000 new jobs in the state, Adani said at  investment conference, adding his Group has invested more than 120 billion rupees so far in the state.

Chinese delegation

An eight member Chinese delegation today met Chief Secretary A P Padhi as part of the Make in Odisha Conclave here.

The delegation assured the state government that it would soon return to Odisha with investment proposals, an official statement said.

Aditya Birla Retail and Fashion Ltd
Aditya Birla Retail and Fashion Ltd (ABFRL) will set up an apparel manufacturing unit in Odisha with a capacity of 2.5 million pieces per annum. The foundation stone for the unit was laid by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who applauded the group for the initiative. “We are proud to bring the manufacturing of apparels for our premium brands like Louis Philippe, Van Huesen, Allen Solly and Peter England to Odisha as part of ‘Make in Odisha’ initiative,” said ABFRL Business Head Ashish Dikshit. The ABFRL Bhubaneswar unit is the first manufacturing unit outside Bangalore. “Our unit will have the capacity of 2.5 million pieces per annum and generate employment for about 1,600 people, most of whom will be women,” added Dikshit.

CM also inaugurated the Garment Manufacturing unit of Shahi Exports in the Capital city.
Shahi Exports, the largest apparel exporter of India, has set up its manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹36.40 crores and will provide employment opportunities to 2200 people.
