Union Cabinet under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday given its approval for formation of an Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Berhampur, Odisha.
The establishment and operationalisation of IISER, Berhampur will involve a cost of Rs.I52.79 crore, for the initial three years (2016-19).
Land for the proposed Institution will be provided by the Government of Odisha in free of cost.
IISER, now declared Institute of National Importance under NITSER Act 2012,would boost research & provide quality education to students at UG & PG Level.
